The
foreign funds company Agropecuaria Arakatu ltda, arrived in
Brazil in December
of 2005. With the acquisition of Fazenda Morena, in Barreiras,
West Bahia, it started achieving its goals by investing in high-tech
agriculture, mainly through coffee and cotton commercial farming.
Adopting the large scale production model, its work focuses
in sustainability, an economical model with social and environmental
viability. As a result, its large production supports current demands,
but with the concern of not endangering the environment and the
biodiversity of our planet, preserving it for generations to come.

When

of production and processing coffee for the four central pivots
of existing irrigation.
In mid 2006, Arakatu Group implemented eleven new irrigation pivots.
In 2008, the company concluded this project with the implementation
of three additional irrigation pivots to support the production
of cotton, corn and black beans.
Encompassing 2,240 hectares of agriculture in this propriety
annually, the company projects to implement 160 hectares of irrigated
Arabica coffee yearly, estimating a total of 1,440 hectares of
Arabica coffee.
In January of 2007,
Agropecuaria Arakatu acquired Fazenda Bonanza, with 3,529 hectares.
Located in one
of the best areas in all
West Bahia - the region of Bela Vista , Serra Geral, it borders
with Tocantins state. This farm is 65 Km away from Luis Eduardo
Magalhães, an area of great pluviometer index, ideal for
the planting and harvesting seasons.
|
The region where
Arakatu is located has very important characteristics for the
success of agricultural projects: altitude, climate, underground
water in abundance, excellent sun light , well defined rain seasons,
soil ready for cultivation, ground extremely interesting for
large scale production and the possibility for irrigation systems.
These factors made the company foresee a bright future for business.
Working with other products (coffee torrefaction industry),
and with corn, black beans and soybean crops, the company applies
high technology for production in large scale. With high efficiency,
it also employs the crop rotation system to maintain soil fertility
and obtain excellent results in its production harvest after
harvest.
